Proud to be an FMAT Academy

Relationship Reset Summit

Since 2021, students from Bournville and across FMAT have been working alongside students from a number of other Trusts and schools nationally to raise the importance of tackling harmful sexual behaviour and promoting the importance of consent.

Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) is a term used to describe sexual actions that are outside what is safe for a young person’s stage of development. It includes actions that can harm either the child or the young person themselves, or another person. Harmful sexual behaviour can be in-person or online and can involve a range of behaviours.  Unfortunately HSB is a growing issue and concern for children in UK schools and communities today.

Consequently, students from across FMAT have worked hard to raise the importance of tackling and addressing the signs and effects of harmful sexual behaviour through the #RelationshipReset initiative.

The #RelationshipReset summit on 14th March 2025 saw the culmination of months of research and collaboration by our brave young people and was a resounding call for the change that is needed.

We are committed to providing safe and inclusive learning environments for all students. Sexual harassment is a serious issue that can have a detrimental impact on the well-being and academic success of children and young people. By fostering a culture of respect, awareness and accountability, we strive to ensure that every student feels safe, valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

Congratulations to Maisie, Alex, Kimberly, Jensen and Darci from Bournville school who co-hosted the event. We are proud of what our young people have achieved and the work they continue to do to drive meaningful behavioural change.
