Thank you so much to everyone who helped make the Christmas Fayre such a success on Thursday 7th December. It was wonderful to see so many new faces and past pupils attending this wonderful Christmas Event.
It was a special event for many reasons. Firstly, it has been some years since we last ran a Christmas Fayre, It was welcomed by all of the school community and will now be a regular on the school calendar. There is already talk of a Summer Fayre too! Secondly, we are an all-through school and primary and secondary worked together to organise this event and it was all the better for it. We are committed to doing much more together and to share best practice from each other. This was also the start of a PTA too, where we worked with parents to organise the fayre for our students. We are particularly grateful for all of the donations. Much more to come from this collaboration too!
The event itself was full of all the festive favourites; a tombola, raffle prizes, name the elf, guess the weight of the Christmas cake… There were games and bargains, even Santa in his Grotto. The atmosphere was wonderful, students really appreciating the effort we’d put in. Many students volunteered to run stalls and those selected were an absolute credit to the school both polite and professional. Nearly £1,000 was raised. Some of it will be donated to House Charities, the rest will go back into the PTA fund to run future events for our students.
