The year 7 boys played their first matches of the season this week. The first game played was against Dame Elizabeth Cadbury, who scored early on and held on to this slender victory securing a 1-0 win. There was some excellent individual performances with Ben Sheppard going close with a free kick and Jake Baker always being in the right position within defence. Man of the match was Ben Sheppard.
The second fixture was against University of Birmingham school, which was another close game. The score was 2-1 to University of Birmingham. Marcus Scicluna scored for Bournville. Man of the match was Leo Smith, who pulled off some incredible saves from close range, including a penalty. Bournville did have the ball in the net for a second time through Mikey Holmes, but he was rightly ruled offside meaning the goal never stood. Despite the two results there are many positive aspects to build upon. The students showed an excellent desire to never give up, and a great battling spirit.
Training is every Thursday so ensure you attend to continue improving. Next fixture vs Shenley Academy. Mr Summers
